TRASPOL EVENTS: presentation of the report “CARPOOLING IN ITALY: AN ANALISYS OF THE SUPPLY”
24 November 2016 there will be a presentation of the TRASPOL Report on carpooling in Italy: An analysis of the supply [in Italian]
The mobility at the national level is not limited to commuters’ trips, but involves an increasin share of occasional trips, difficult to account for. In the long distance segment they are already prevalent with respect to systematic trips and include tourism, personal trips and business trips.
The report analyses and study a large sample of observations relative to the supply of Carpooling trips from the website BlaBlaCar. The analysis of the dataset allows, from one side, to better understand the dynamics of the diffusion of the service at the national scale. On the other side, we can derive many interesting information about the occasional long distance mobility, its paths and the seasonality.
